PERSON OF INDIAN ORIGIN (PIO) CARD |
A PIO card is a long term visa for India with no restrictions on number of visits and with exemption from any registration formalities. It also offers a range of economic, financial and cultural benefits on par with Non Resident Indians (NRIs). |
ELIGIBLITY FOR PIO CARD |
A person is entitled for a PIO card if : i) He/She or either of his/her parents/grand parents/great grand parents was at any time a citizen of India |
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ISSUE OF PIO CARD |
1. Completed Application form, with four colored Passport size photographs. 2. Proof of Indian citizenship of either applicant, parents, grand parents or great grand parents. Proof of Indian citizenship of one person from these categories is sufficient. A copy of the Indian passport of one of these persons is the most reliable proof of Indian citizenship. 3. Original Myanmar Passport along with its copy. Original passport will be returned after the scrutiny. |
