Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Embassy of India, Yangon and with the support of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India is organizing the 2nd Enterprise India show, the exclusive exhibition of Indian products and services in Tatmadaw hall Yangon, Myanmar from 16-18 January 2014. The exhibition is open for public from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Show will bring together leading Indian brands and small and medium size entrepreneurs on one platform, effectively presenting the India business perspective and leverage business partnerships with Myanmar Industry. The show will also create a positive atmosphere for scaling up ambitions and set new targets and partnerships.
The Exhibition will be spread over an area of 2500 s.qm and will have the participation of 50+ companies from varied sectors in India. The major focus of the exhibition will be on Agriculture, Automobile & automotive components, Construction Machinery, Education and Training, Energy Transmission, Farm Equipment Machinery, Financial Services, Irrigation, Metals & Minerals, Waste Management with; leading companies like ABB, Jain Irrigation, TAFE, Crompton Greaves, Preet Tractors, Aptech, J K Tyres, Exim Bank and International Tractors etc. In conjunction to the exhibition, the event will include a Young Indian Entrepreneurs Delegation.

IT Training Programme for Young Myanmar
The Government of India is supporting an IT Training Programme for 100 Young Myanmar Entrepreneurs at the Infosys Global Education Centre, Mysore, India as part of the Myanmar President U Thein Sein’s Initiative to develop human resource and entrepreneurship in Myanmar on Information Technology together with Infosys and UNESCAP. Infosys is a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing solutions in Information Technology.
The Training will be in three phases. The first batch of 25 Trainees is scheduled to depart for India on Tuesday the 4th of February for the course commencing on 6thFebruary 2014. The 12 week training programme is co-sponsored by the Infosys, UNESCAP andGovernment of India.
Ambassador of India to Myanmar, H.E. Gautam Mukhopadhaya interacted with the 25 Myanmar participants prior to the departure. He said this endeavor is part of India’s continued commitment for development cooperation and human resource development in Myanmar which encompasses major connectivity projects and several capacity building initiatives, entailing a financial commitment on the part of Government of India of US$ 1.5 billion in direct project aid and soft line of credits. India has already set up a IT Training Centre- India-Myanmar Centre for Enhancement of IT Skills in Yangon and is at the advanced stage of setting up a Myanmar Institute of Information Technology in Mandalay which is scheduled to commence during the coming academic year. He said that participants would gain valuable knowledge and experience during their 12 week programme, which he hoped would constitute the nucleus of new generation of IT entrepreneurs in Myanmar and contribute to the development and growth of Myanmar especially in the IT sector. Ambassador also wished them success.

Exim Bank EXTENDS TWO LOCS OF USD 198.96 MILLION AND USD 155 MILLION TO MYANMA foreign TRADE BANK (MFTB), MYANMAR for FINANCING 18 IRRIGATION PROJECTS (16 ONGOING AND 2 REHABILITATION) AND PROCUREMENT OF ROLLING STOCK EQUIPMENT AND UPGRADATION OF THREE MAJOR RAILWAY WORKSHOPS IN MyANMAR
Export-Import Bank of India [Exim Bank] has, at the behest of Government of India, extended two Lines of Credit [LOCs] of USD 198.96 million and USD 155 million to Myanma Foreign Trade Bank (MFTB), Myanmar for financing 18 irrigation projects (16 ongoing and 2 rehabilitation) and the Procurement of Rolling stock, equipment and upgradation of three major railway workshops in Myanmar respectively. The LOC Agreements to this effect were signed on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, by Mr. David Rasquinha, Executive Director, on behalf of Exim Bank and Mr. Nyi Phyu Hla, Managing Director, on behalf of Myanma Foreign Trade Bank.
With the above two LOCs, an aggregate of nine LOCs have been extended to MFTB. The earlier seven LOCs of value aggregating USD 247.43 million were extended to MFTB for financing railway projects, refinery projects, assembly/manufacturing plant of vehicles, transmission lines, upgradation of petrochemical complex in Myanmar.
Under the LOCs, Exim Bank will reimburse 100% of contract value to the Indian exporters, upfront upon shipment of goods. The LOCs will be used for sourcing of goods and services from India.Exim Bank has now in place 182 Lines of Credit, covering over 75 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and the CIS, with credit commitments of over USD 10.07 billion, available for financing exports from India. Exim Bank's LOCs afford a risk-free, non-recourse export financing option to Indian exporters. Besides promoting India’s exports, Exim Bank's LOCs enable demonstration of Indian expertise and project execution capabilities in emerging markets.
